North Gate Tastes Great

Before I started RangeBuzz.com, there were some restaurants I just hadn’t tried. Fortunately, I’ve broadened my horizons and have had experienced some of the best food around at North Gate Café & Catering. My only disappointment is that I wish I had eaten there years ago!

When I first looked at the menu, I was impressed at the original recipes for breakfast (my favorite meal of the day.) With omelets like Papa’s Secret-wild rice, green pepper, onion, mushrooms and American cheese, Brother’s Belly Buster-ham and bacon with 3 cheeses and sour cream, the Cully Looper-stuffed with corned beef hash, and Grandpa’s Grub-wild rice, bacon, mushrooms and cheddar cheese, you can see how the decision was not easy. I decided on Grandpa’s Grub and my husband ordered the Cully Looper. The portions were plentiful and the omelets tasted great! Our omelets were packed with fresh ingredients. I couldn’t even finish my meal because I was so full. The next time I’m in for breakfast at North Gate Café, I am tempted to try the Stuffed Hashed Browns. I’ve heard they are a customer favorite.

Cory Carlson-the talented cook and owner-creates wonderful lunch specials daily, homemade soups and serves up delicious sandwiches, wraps and burgers. I must confess: I am a cheeseburger nutcase. My assistant, Kristen and I had lunch there a few weeks ago, and both of us ordered burgers. One word: EXCELLENT! They were charbroiled to perfection. The bun was buttered and grilled…just how I like it… and every bite tasted absolutely delicious. There are only a couple places in Virginia where I can say I LOVE their cheeseburgers, and North Gate Café makes the top of the list.

When I go out to eat, what’s even more important to me than the food is the service. Seriously, I have 4 kids and husband I wait on daily, and when I go out, I expect to receive quick and friendly service. The servers at North Gate get five stars from me; they have all been down to earth, fun and attentive. They are knowledgeable about the menu items and provided recommendations when I couldn’t make up my mind.

Where can you find an All You Can Eat Fish Fry for less than $7? You guessed it: North Gate Café. Every Friday night starting at 4pm, North Gate fries up as much fish as you can eat as well as offering shrimp and walleye dinner for only $9.95.  Have a tough week at work? If you’re looking to have a great meal-Breakfast, lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed at the portions, prices or flavor North Gate Café offers. I know I am one very satisfied customer.
