Beggar and the Wolf is based on the popular 13th century legend of St. Francis and the wolf.  The townsfolk of Gubbio are howling mad when a lone wolf stalks their medieval village.  The entire population is afraid to conduct their daily business.  They face the prospect of becoming poor, hungry and even stinky since they can’t even draw water from the town fountain to bathe.  When all else fails, Mayor Gasbaggio fetches a renowned holy person from the neighboring village of Assisi to help tame the wild beast. Will Grindella the miller be able to finally make her grain?  Will Laundretta ever be able to wash the villagers’ clothes?  And will Fermin, the brave son of the ratcatcher Rhodentia ever be able to win the heart of the fair Fabrica, daughter of the miserly cloth merchant Brocadero?  All of these questions and more will be answered in this hilarious and heart-warming story that is perfect for all ages.

Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for kids 12 and under.

Seating is general for all Mesabi Theater productions.
