About the Iron Range
Minnesota’s Iron Range attracts tourists from all over the country.  The Iron Range offers quiet, easy living where its people love outdoor activities from snowmobiling, skiing and ice fishing in the winter to ATV riding, fishing, and camping in the summer. The Legend and the Quarry located at Giant’s Ridge and the Wilderness Golf Course at Fortune Bay represent two of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses in Minnesota. Resorts and cabins are abundant around Crane Lake and Lake Vermilion, where people escape the city life to enjoy nature and wildlife. The Mesabi Trail—the Iron Range’s popular bike and hike route—runs though the cities of Ely, Tower, Eveleth, Gilbert, Virginia on the east range to Buhl, Chisholm, Hibbing and Grand Rapids on the west range.
