St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated by the Irish and Irish at Heart in big cities and small towns alike with parades, “wearing of the green,” music and songs, and Irish food and drink. Its a time for fun. Some communities even go so far as to dye rivers or streams green! Nothing reminds me more of the Irish than a four leaf clover! Enjoy!

Vodka is a distilled spirit made from grains or potatoes. It originated in Eastern Europe, but is now made all over the world. Drinkers have taken
to Vodka for it’s mixability and smooth neutral taste. It comes in many different flavors as well, anywhere from blueberry to vanilla. I thought we’d go with orange, this reminds me of a childhood treat (with a lil kick, of course!) Enjoy!
Creamsicle
Fill a mixing cup with 1/2 way with ice.
1/2 oz. Vodka or Orange Vodka
1/2 oz. Triple Sec
1 oz. Orange Juice
1 oz. Cream
Shake all ingredients well and strain into a cocktail glass.
Use a scoop of vanilla ice cream instead of cream & ice, and you’ve got a Dreamsicle. Serve in a large stem or hurricane glass. YUM!

Shots are a drinking tradition the world over. Before all these fancy
mixed cocktails were invented most people took shots of straight booze. Depending on where you lived in the world it was either Vodka, Rum, Whiskey, Tequila or Brandy. Most shots are not born of ancient tradition, rather they came from generations of college and holiday parties! I hope you enjoy this one, salute!

Chocolate is a traditional Valentine’s Day gift. And while there isn’t
really such a thing as bad chocolate, Valentine’s Day is an occasion to show you put more thought into your gift than running to Target and grabbing the last sampler box! This year make the one you love a mouth-watering cocktail to share. Enjoy, and Happy Valentines Day!

The big game is coming up and as always, that entails a great day of football, food and fun. Oh yeah, and that means cocktails as well. I
know, we’re all a little disappointed the Viking’s didn’t make it, however, I say, pick a team and party! Either way, it is a great excuse to have a few cocktails, and pig out on some awesome finger foods! I hope no one is offended, but, I am cheering for the Colts, only because the Saint’s are the ones who killed our dreams!! So, Go Colts!!!

Green Tea Gimlet
The Green Tea Gimlet is light and slightly sweet while still giving you
what you came to a Gimlet for–vodka. And green tea is good for you. Does that mean this cocktail is good for you? I can’t say that, but I’ll let you think that if you want. This cocktail is made with vodka, fresh lemon and a quick-and-easy green tea syrup. If you think you’ll want more green tea cocktails, infusing a green tea vodka or buying the one made by Charbay might be a good investment.

Ok Vikings fans, here is a cocktail that my husband thought of. I came to
him asking if he thought I should do a football themed drink for the Vikes first leg on the road to Miami (Superbowl) and he said “Oh yeah! Can I make one up?” I said “sure”. So, I hope you like it, and go Vikes!!!

Well 2009, that’s a wrap! start working on you 2010 resolutions! If yours
was to go out for a night on the town, and not be the one who always is too tired to stay out and party, then this week’s drink is for you. Enjoy!
Midnight Kick
2 oz. Cabo Añejo Tequila
Orange Slice
Cinnamon
Wet the rim of a chilled shot glass with the orange slice. Then rim the shot glass with powdered cinnamon on a plate. Be careful not to turn the glass right side up until it has been rimmed. The orange liquid will drip otherwise. Shake the Cabo Tequila with ice in a shaker and strain into the chilled shot glass. Slam the shot and then bite into the orange slice to finish.

and cozy. It looks pretty, too! At this time of year there is nothing better than snugglin up with a cup of hot chocolate, especially with a little holiday cheer (if you know what I mean). Enjoy!
