Synopsis
On a few occasions in the history of theater, a play has come along that changed everything. Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen’s play “A Doll’s House” is one of those plays. Over more than 150 years, Ibsen’s plays have become synonymous with an almost prophetic commentary on society, finding humor in the most unlikely of places, and, ultimately, a love for humanity so strong that his characters are immediately recognizable, their fates seemingly tied to our own. “A Doll’s House” is his masterpiece. And in contemporary Irish playwright Frank McGuinness’ sparkling modern version, audiences can’t help but cheer for Ibsen’s characters, in all their successes and failures.
